Everest Mountain Overfly with Kalapatthar Landing and Breakfast at Hotel Everest View from Kathmandu

The day begins gently with a scenic hop from Kathmandu to Lukla, which already offers sweeping views of Nepal's mid-hills and river valleys. After a short refueling stop, the flight continues deeper into the mountains, passing over Namche Bazaar and Tengboche before reaching Pheriche, where the terrain opens into the wide, high-altitude Khumbu valley.

The real highlight comes next. In pairs, passengers fly from Pheriche toward Kalapatthar, climbing close past Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Glacier before touching down at 5,545 metres. The landing itself lasts around five minutes, just enough time to step out, take in a completely unobstructed view of Mount Everest and its neighbouring giants, and capture photos before returning to Pheriche for the next pair to take their turn. While one pair is up at Kalapatthar, the rest of the group waits at Pheriche, where the thinner air and dramatic surroundings are already a striking experience in their own right.

Once every passenger has made the trip up and back, the whole group flies on together to Hotel Everest View, where a relaxed 15 to 20 minute breakfast is served with panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku a welcome, unhurried moment after the intensity of the Kalapatthar landing. From there, the helicopter retraces its route through Lukla and back to Kathmandu. Light turbulence over ridgelines and near the high-altitude landing zone is normal, and every leg of the flight is flown only when conditions are judged safe.
